Yasur activity in September 2017

During a hike on the Yasur, Thomas BOYER was able to take some videos of an unusual activity of this volcano.

One can see, in this video, one of the eruptive mouths of the Yasur to produce smoke rings.

In this video, we can see the combustion of volcanic gases at the level of the eruptive mouth.

The gas coming out of the eruptive mouth is a superheated mixture containing hydrogen sulphide (H2S), or sulfur vapors, sometimes CO, which ignites on contact with air.
